SLOANSVILLE - Fridolin “Fred” Banks, Sr., 87, passed away Monday January 29,2024 at his home under the loving care of his wife, Linda and hospice. Fred was born January 27, 1937 in Mount Kisco, NY, son of the late Fridolin and Monica (Kirchmann) Bank. He attended Schoharie Central School and later served in the US Army in Korea, starting in 1957 for 3 years and in the reserves, until being Honorably Discharged November of 1962. He became an Operating Engineer with the Upstate NY Operating Engineers - Local No. 158 for the majority of his working years.
Survivors include: his wife, Linda (Grant) Banks; his son, Fred Banks, Jr., of Esperance, NY; his daughter, Teresa and her husband Michael Vaillancourt of New Hampshire; and his granddaughter, Shelby Flux. He was predeceased by his parents and daughter, Karen St. Lawrence.
A funeral service was held Friday February 2nd at the White-VanBuren Funeral Home in Delanson, NY. Burial with military honors will be held in the spring in the Esperance Cemetery.
