Carol Wengenack Obituary

Duanesburg- Carol J. Wengenack passed away peacefully at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s on Friday, January 10, 2020. She was born in Candor, NY to the late Ralph and Harriet Grippin. She was married to the love of her life Edward Wengenack and they were happily married for 63 years.

She attended Berne Knox Central School. After graduation she would marry Edward and begin raising her family. She would then go on to work for the New York State Department of Transportation.

Carol enjoyed square dancing, camping, spending time on the St. Lawrence River, going to the casino, listening to old time country music, wintering in Florida, and most importantly, spending time with her family. She entertained her family on holidays for many years. She truly shined around her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She will be forever missed by her loving husband of 63 years, Edward “Hon” Wengenack, her fur-baby and loyal companion, Missy, her children; Cheryl (William) Film, James (Susan) Wengenack, Darren Wengenack, and Tammy Wengenack (Marie Miklic), her grandchildren; Amanda (Matt) Skop, Jared (Tiffany) Wengenack, Travis Wengenack, and Alissa Wengenack, her great grandchildren; Logan, Bailey, and Avery Skop, and Dean Wengenack, her brothers; Harold (Dorothy) Grippin, Gerald (Pauline) Grippin, and Gordon (Mary Ellen) Grippin, her sister-in-law, Genevieve Prime, and her brother-in-law, George Wengenack.

She now joins in eternal life, her parents, Ralph and Harriet, her granddaughter Sandra Film, and her sister Marion Countryman.

Calling hours will be held for Carol on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 3-5pm at White-Van Buren Funeral Home, 1779 Main St. Delanson, NY 12053. A funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 5pm. Burial will follow in the spring.

In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made in Carol’s name to the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, P.O. Box 40 Howes Cave, NY 12092.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and technicians at both Unit 4P, and the Hospice Inn for their care and compassion when treating Carol.
