Dorothy Dori Doucet

July 22, 1958 ~ September 7, 2017 (age 59) 59 Years Old


 

Princetown- Dorothy Ellen “Dori” Doucet, passed away on September 7, 2017, after a long, hard fought battle with brain cancer; she was 59. During her illness, Dori kept a positive attitude as she did with many aspects of her life.

Dori was born on July 22, 1958, a daughter of the late Malcolm A. Wilber and Janice M. Hill.

She was a graduate of Duanesburg High School and continued her education and received an Associate’s Degree from SUNY Cobleskill.

Until her retirement in April of 2016, Dori had been employed as a Taxpayer Service Administrator in NYS Tax and Finance for 37 years.

Dori enjoyed collecting anything that was Snoopy. She was an avid traveler and her favorite vacations were when she went to Hawaii with her family.  And her happiest times were when she and her husband Joe were riding their Harley’s.

Dori is survived by her beloved husband Joseph “Joe” L. Doucet, whom she married on September 19 ,1987 and  their two sons  Andrew Doucet  and Aaron Doucet .  Dori was a very devoted mother to her sons. She was always very proud of all of their accomplishments.

She is also survived by her mother Janice M. Hill, her daughter in law Theresa Doucet, her siblings Naomi (Dale) Shaffer, Brian (Melissa) Wilber, Heather (Roger Hayes) Wilber, and stepsiblings Richard Relyea, Michele (Mark) Lawrence, Yevonne Schaeffer, and her stepmother Rebecca Wilber. Survivor’s also included several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Susan Weaver and the staff at Albany Med Oncology for all their support and care of Dori. Also, a special thank you to all of Dori’s friends who have provided comfort, laughter and love to her and her family.

Family and friends are invited to call at the White VanBuren Funeral Home 1779 Main Street Delanson NY on Sunday September 10, 2017 from 1 pm to 4 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Monday September 11, 2017 at Christ Episcopal Church Route 20 Duanesburg. Interment will follow at Grove Cemetery Quaker Street.
