Esperance – Patricia Ann Fagan, 73, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on January 4th, 2019 after a long battle with cancer.
Patricia was born in Amsterdam to her parents, the late Ray Gordon and Helen Borden Gordon. She grew up in Esperance, NY and lived almost all of her life there.
She was a student in a one room school house in Esperance and later graduated from Schoharie High School, class of 1963.
Pat had many jobs over the years including the JJ Kerns Insurance Agency and National Commercial Bank, both in Albany, teaching at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Sloansville and working at US Sander in Esperance. She also wrote the Esperance column for the Times Journal from 1987- November 2018, but Pat’s most cherished job in life was being a loving mother and taking care of her family and home.
She was very passionate about many things throughout her life such as being a 4H leader, a Cub Scout leader, Fresh Air mother, a foster mother and hosting many foreign exchange students. She also served as a host for Experiment in International Living and over the years has maintained contact and relationships with the many lives she touched.
Pat is the beloved wife of Ronald P. Fagan for 54 years, loving mother of Darcy Leyton (Juan Carlos), Ronald P. Fagan Jr., Jay R. Fagan (Deonna), Dane U. Fagan (Amanda), Penny Fagan and Eddie Fagan and caring grandmother of Jensen Grescheck, Isabella and Alejandro Leyton and Chloe and Darlene Fagan. She is also survived by her siblings, Thomas R. Gordon Sr. (Crystal), Warren S. Gordon Sr. (Barbara), Linda Gordon Pfaffenbach (David) and Sally Gordon Daddario (Richard) as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and 1 great great nephew.
Besides her parents, Pat is predeceased by her infant son, Francis Fagan, her daughter, Darline Fagan Willis and her sister, Kathleen Gordon Willman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, January 8th from 10:45-12:45pm at Our Lady of Fatima, 1735 Alexander Road in Delanson. A funeral mass will follow at 1pm. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church hall immediately following the mass. Interment will take place at Esperance Cemetery in the springtime.
