Ruth Breckenridge Hankinson

Scotia - Ruth B. Hankinson, 91, formerly of Delanson passed away peacefully on December 17, 2017 at the Baptist Health Center, in Scotia.

She was born in 1926 in Scotia , a daughter of the late Andrew and Ruth Codding  Breckenridge.

She was a graduate of Duanesburg High School and she married her husband John In 1946. He predeceased her in 2005. Her siblings, Janet Ryder and Arthur, John and Robert Breckenridge also died earlier.

Prior to her marriage, Ruth worked at GE where she met her husband.  Later she was employed at the Duanesburg Schools in accounting. She retired in the mid 1980s.

Ruth spent her spare time in the pursuit of painting, gardening, and traveling. She and her husband traveled extensively in the US with her sister and her husband after they retired.  She was a member of the Delanson Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children Glenn (Tisha) Hankinson of Vermont, Andrea (Charles) Rutherford of Valatie NY and Donna (Chester ) Hankinson Vitelli of Schenectady. She is also survived by her grandsons  Ray and John Johnson, Jeffrey and Gregory Rutherford and Andrew Hankinson and  her granddaughters Perry  and Lucy Hankinson.  She also has 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

All services will be held in the spring at a time to be announced.
