Julia DeBraccio Obituary

Delanson- Julia D. DeBraccio, 71, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Born in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Dykeman and Margaret Beretz Dykeman. She was happily married to Vincent DeBraccio for 46 years.

Julia was a past member of the Delanson United Methodist Church and the Farmers of America. She was an Accounts Receivable Specialist with Matthew Bender in NY. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, tending to her flower garden, horses, and cooking, especially for holiday gatherings and birthdays. She loved being a wife and mother to her family and spending time with them.  An expert Tetris and Dr. Mario player, she especially enjoyed family quiet time at the family camp on Sacandaga Lake.  She was good-natured, would give the shirt off her back to someone who needed it, and she was a stellar listener who strived to be fair to everyone.

She is survived by her husband, Vincent, her sons; Marc (Michael) DeBraccio, Gregg DeBraccio and Steven (Alexandria) DeBraccio, her brothers; David Dykeman and Terry Dykeman, as well as many loving relatives and close friends.

She is predeceased by her son, Bruce “Bear” DeBraccio, and her brothers, Frederick Dykeman and John Dykeman.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 26 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm at the White-Van Buren Funeral Home, 1779 Main Street Delanson, NY 12053. A funeral service will follow at 3:30pm at the funeral home.  A reception will follow at the Duanesburg Fire Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made in Julia’s name to the Quaker St. Fire Department, the Duanesburg Volunteer Ambulance Corps, or to the Duanesburg Fire Department.
