Mary Dunn Obituary

Duanesburg- Mary G. Dunn, 95, passed away peacefully at home on October 21st, 2021 surrounded by her family. Born in Niskayuna, NY she is the daughter of the late Alexander Rostkowski and Antonina Tomazewski Rostkowski. She was happily married to the late William Dunn Jr. for 27 years.

Mary graduated from St. Mary’s High School before eventually becoming the owner of the Duanesburg Oil Co., and Harbor North Marina. She would then go on to work as a clerk for the New York State Tax Department. She was an active member of the Duanesburg Historical Society, a lifetime member of the Duanesburg Volunteer Ambulance Corps (DVAC), and the treasurer of the Duanesburg Senior Citizens.

She enjoyed gardening, reading, making puzzles, traveling, playing cards, and bowling with the leagues. Above all, Mary cherished the time she spent with her family.

She is survived by her daughter Laurie Dykeman, her son William Dunn III (Hank), her grandchildren; Lindsey (Walter) Hladchuk, Justin Dykeman, and Kathryn Dunn (Joely), her sister, Sr. Marcella Rostkowski , C.R., several nieces and nephews, and four-legged fur grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Antonina, her husband, William, her brother, and her sisters.

Services will be private. Mary will be laid to rest by her husband at Schenectady Memorial Park in Rotterdam.
