Paul Bernard Obituary

Delanson- Paul N. Bernard passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Born in Athol Massachusetts, he was the son of Arthur and Dora Launier Bernard. He was married to Diana Boardman Bernard. They were happily married for 31 years.

Paul received his Master’s Degree in Teaching from the College of St. Rose. He would then go on to teach at Coxsackie Correction Facility, LaSalle School, Duanesburg Central School, and BOCES, where he would retire. He was a member of the National Guard.

An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and gardening, especially tending to his vegetable garden. He could often be found practicing his cross stitch, or playing Gin on the computer. He and his wife enjoyed visiting casinos and vacationing at Rockport, Massachusetts. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Diana, his children; Michelle Bernard (Wally), Michael (Lorrie) Bernard, Mark (Hope) Bernard, his step children; Kandee (Patrick) Simpson, Keith (Melissa) Johnson, Kraig Johnson, his grandchildren; Brian, Christopher, Corey, Tiffany, Elliot, Melinda, his step grandchildren; Kayleigh, Kierstin, Keelyn, Maddie, Kyle, McKenna, Olivia, Abby, Liliah, his great-grandchildren; Nathan and Noah, and his brother, Andre.

He is predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Dora, his daughter Cynthia, his brothers; Robert, Roland, and Jean, his sister Marie, his brother-in-law Dennis, his mother-in-law Helen, and his father-in-law Kenneth.

A memorial service will be held privately by the family at a later date.

The family requests any memorial contributions be made in Paul’s name to the Warriors on Wheels, 230 Green Street, Albany, NY 12202.
