Robert W. Hofmann, 80 of Delanson, died suddenly on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Ellis Hospital.
Robert was born in Albany, the son of the late Charles and Edith Oliver Hofmann. He graduated from Duanesburg High School. Following graduation, he worked for many years as a farm worker on the Peterson farm in Delanson, a job he loved. He later worked as a Winder with General Electric for 32 years, retiring in 2002. Robert was a wonderful and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather who always kept busy with family, friends and neighbors. He loved to joke around, putter with the neighbor’s tractors, go to his great grandkid’s ballgames and always was willing to lend a hand to everyone.
In addition to his parents, Robert, was also predeceased by his siblings: Marie Godin, John Hofmann, Charles Hofmann, Jean Talmadge, Peggy Duell, Edith Lomasney, George L Hofmann, Edward Hofmann, Pete Hofmann, Michael Hofmann and David Hofmann.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Victoria Cameron Hofmann, whom he married on July 26, 1960, four children; Matthew Hofmann, William (Connie) Hofmann, Greg Hofmann and Kim (Bruce) Wright, 5 cherished grandchildren; Ryan (Lauren), Kevin, Amanda (Jayson), Amber (Eric) and Bruce (Nicole), 12 great grandchildren; Lucas, Maverick, T.J., Owen, Grayson, Garrett, Eric, Collin, Logan, Carson, Trinity and Bryce.
He is also survived by his sisters; Cathy (Victor) Micalizzi, Anna Marie Mastro and Joyce Buskey, along with his brother George (Dorothy) Hofmann, as well as lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will be receiving friends and family at Robert and Victoria’s home on Sunday, from 1 – 4 pm. Masks are required.
A private burial will be at Grove Cemetery.
